Akihabara is Tokyo's electric town, where if you can plug it in, they have it, and I can't begin to describe the impact of so much MUCH-ness. There are multi-level stores with a paralyzing range of choices for each item (check out the watch bands in the last photo--how do you even begin to pick one? It is this way with anything you could possibly think you might want to own) and then there is a rabbit-warren of tunnels such as the one where Matthew is standing, home to an infinite array of...I don't even know what. Everything. Besides the visual cacophony, the din is relentless. We have been there twice and both times hit critical mass fairly quickly.
