I met a friendly American jogger who told me that if I get tired of running around the palace, there is another, better option for those "in the know."

I followed his directions and ah yes, lovely indeed!

To me though, it is too tranquil to lend itself to charging around at speed. Or maybe it's that my preferred jogging music--tunes like "Tube Steak Boogie" and "Switchblade Posse"-- would be just wrong here. And I can only listen to "Hooked on Tschaikovsky" so many times before it begins to lose its appeal.

I almost got lost walking in these woods, there is such a tangle of trails. When I finally did emerge there was one of the ubiquitous "you are here" maps to help get me home. I love those maps, they seem to always be there when I need one. The only problem I have is that they aren't necessarily oriented north and south, making some of my walks considerably longer than planned.
