Since our dining table has become our computer station, our stylishly low coffee table has become our dining table. Matthew's knees are unanimously not in favor of this arrangement and he eats most of his meals standing up.
If you have been in our house you know my fondness for bright colors. So now, with our only color accent being a tube of Burt's Bees lip balm...it's different for me. Not uncomfortable, just different. I don't want to spoil it by changing it too much, but I think some flowers or an equivalent on the coffee table might not be out of order.
The wall by the bed slides to close off the "sleeping alcove." Almost, anyway--it stops about 6" short. But at least when I am awake at 4am I can get up a read or be at my computer without bothering Matthew who normally sleeps like a teenager but with the time change wakes up more easily. At the hotel I had 2 options: creep around wearing the headlight glasses that I bought on a whim at a California truck stop recently, or make myself comfy in the bathtub. Given that the tub was probably more sterile than the bed, I had no problem with option B. But I have to say, this is much better now even though the couch is hard enough that it could serve as a tub in a pinch.
